About Our Breathwork Instructor, Curtis Tredway
Curtis Tredway is a waterman, Master Freediving Instructor, and breathwork facilitator with over a decade immersed in the ocean.
Eight years ago, Curtis began practising breathwork with one goal, to improve performance in sport and overall health. What started as a tool to hold his breath longer and train harder quickly became something much deeper. He began noticing profound shifts in mental clarity, stress regulation, and emotional resilience.
Breathwork stopped being just a performance tool. It became a foundation.
Today, Curtis is a Master Freediving Instructor and has worked as a Competition Safety Diver at National and World Cup freediving events, operating in high-pressure, high-risk environments where calm, control, and rapid decision-making are essential. He has performed real rescues in dynamic and depth scenarios, where nervous system regulation is not optional, it is critical.
Beyond competition environments, Curtis is a lifelong surfer and ocean athlete who has travelled extensively, diving and training around the world with some of the deepest divers on the planet, and achieved his own feats with a dive to 67m and 5 minute+ breathhold. He has coached and guided over 1,000 students through freediving courses, breathwork sessions, international retreats, and performance workshops.
Through this work, he has supported individuals experiencing:
-
Chronic stress and burnout
-
Anxiety and panic responses
-
PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
-
Performance anxiety
-
Sleep disruption
His approach to breathwork is grounded in physiology and lived experience. It blends modern nervous system science with real-world ocean training, making it practical, measurable, and deeply embodied.
Whether working with a single client in a private 1:1 session, leading a corporate workshop, or guiding freediving courses, and international freediving expeditions, Curtis teaches one core skill:
How to stay calm when it matters most.
