February Community Update at Deep Sensations Freediving

Hey everyone!

Wow, what a whirlwind February it's been for Deep Sensations Freediving!

Seriously, I think it might have been our biggest month ever, and I'm still buzzing from all the amazing experiences we've shared together.

First off, let me tell you about our Depth Development Clinic on the Central Coast.

Picture this: four enthusiastic divers, all coming together to refine their technique , work on relaxation and become stronger divers.

And guess what?

Every single one of us hit personal bests!

Whether it was smashing records in statics, going the distance in the pool, or mastering their depth, there were smiles all around.

It's moments like these that the team and I cherish more than anuthing.

But that's not all, the whirlwind continues...

We hosted our biggest social dive yet at Bushrangers Bay, and boy, was it a blast!

We had a whole crew of new faces joining us, and some of our seasoned divers, a few even brought along their passionate groms.

It's amazing to see the freediving community growing in the Illawarra and evolving right before our eyes. P.s. If you haven't already, go join our Facebook or Instagram social group chats for all the social dive announcements.

Speaking of growth, we welcomed a whopping 12 new freedivers to our Beginner Freediver Course throughout February. It's always such a thrill to introduce people to the incredible world of freediving and watch them discover their own strengths and abilities in the water. And let me tell you, there were plenty of personal bests achieved during our depth sessions too. It's inspiring to witness our divers pushing themselves to new heights – or should I say depths?

And can we talk about our back-to-back retreats? I mean, talk about living the dream!

First up, we headed to Byron Bay for some epic underwater adventures, swimming with leopard sharks, manta rays, turtles, and spotted eagle rays.

Plus, we squeezed in some land-based fun, like chasing waterfalls and exploring Byron's best-kept secrets. Then, we ventured to Shellharbour for another unforgettable retreat, where we got up close and personal with grey nurse sharks at Bushrangers Bay, braved ice baths like true warriors, and went on a mission to uncover the hidden gems of the Gravel Loader.

@danithediver from Protect What You Love also came on to assist this retreat, and helped us put together our first beach clean up! Together, retreat participants and some of our community came to assist with cleaning up Shellharbour pool.

Let me tell you, those retreats were the stuff of dreams, and I'm still pinching myself to make sure it wasn't all just a fantastic illusion.

Oh, and did I mention that we launched our Equalisation Mastery eBook? Yeah, that's right – we're not just about diving deep; we're also all about sharing our knowledge and helping others improve their skills.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or just dipping your toes into the world of freediving, there's something for everyone in our eBook, and I couldn't be prouder of the team for putting it together.

In other exciting news, we've set up new weekly pool training sessions at the University of Wollongong every Friday, as well as weekly depth sessions at Lilli Pilli every Monday.

It's all about making sure our divers have plenty of opportunities to hone their skills and stay connected with the community.

And speaking of staying connected, I've got some personal news to share too – I've finally managed to reduce my work hours in my office job from five days to four, which means I can dedicate even more time and energy to Deep Sensations Freediving.

It's been a long time coming, but I couldn't be happier to be able to focus on what I love most – sharing my passion for freediving with all of you.

And last but not least, mark your calendars because we've got one final social dive for the season coming up on March 2 at Bushrangers Bay. Register here.

It's going to be epic, and I can't wait to see all your smiling faces in the water.

Well, that's a wrap for now, folks.

Thanks for joining Deep Sensations on this wild ride through the past month. Here's to many more incredible adventures together in the months ahead.

Until next time.

Cheers,

Curtis
